Prof. Emeritus Takeshi Matsuishi M.D.,Ph.D.


Professor Emeritus of Yokohama National University( Faculty of Education and Human Sciences). Psychiatrist and neurologist. Consultant medical doctor for Yokohama City and Kanagawa Prefecture. Working as a clinical neuropsychiatrist and involved in the research of organic psychosis, such as dementia and mental retardation. The author of the books titled Clinical Neurology(in Japanese), Pathology of Mental Retardation(in Japanese) and the translator of Deniker's psychotropic drug(from French to Japanese).
Major paper is "A study on the interval form of carbon monoxide-neuropathology, electroencephalography, and brain imaging(Ph.D. thesis)". Presently writes papers about cases of chromosomal abnormality, some of which will be presented in this site.

Graduated from Trinity College of Dublin with a degree in Natural Science specialising in Physiology and a degree in Physiotherapy.Author of the papers presented in this site regarding chromosomal abnormalities and mental retardation. Presently working as a Physiotherapist and continuing her research of cases of rare chromosomal aberrations.

Gabor Toth M.A.M.Sc.,M.Ed.,Ph.D.

Professor of Sagami Women's University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences
Teacher for the Mentally Retarded, Speech Therapist, Teacher of Special Education and an Educational Consultant.
Born in Szeged, worked in Budapest at the "Barczi Gusztav" College of Special Education, Speech and Language Center as an Instructor Teacher of Speech Therapist.
The Speech and Language Center caters for people with speech disorders; it assesses the children and adults, and provides treatment as well as offering in-service programs for speech therapists nationwide.
Actively engaged with two foundations dealing with handicapped children. Interested in comparative special education , he plans to collect information on the safety nets designed for the handicapped and main directions of research in different countries.
Author of papers including -The Complex Development of the Nervous system - "Basic Therapy" In.: Developmental Pedagogy, Budapest, 1994/4-5.


Akiko Yoshida M.Ed.

Teacher at a private special school. Researching the epidemiology of mental retardation and autism in Yokohama City.

Tomoko Sugano M.Ed.

School teacher. Researching methods of education for autistic children. The subject of her master course thesis is the nosology of autistic disorders.
