General Information
The Journal of Disability and Medico-Pedagogy is devoted to the scientific and pedagogic study of disability and is published biannually. This online journal publishes papers that report original observations, as well as review articles in the field. The subject matter includes medical research — such as clinical, pathological, and cytogenetic reports, biochemical investigation, and studies in genetics. The journal also publishes psychological, educational and sociological studies that may increase knowledge of the educational systems, social welfare systems, and healthcare systems that serve persons with disabilities.
Review articles are published when they review recent research that has produced notable advances, or when they present historical or sociological considerations. All papers are reviewed by our editors, and cultural, social, and political differences are recognized and accommodated in the editorial process.
With regard to medical research, we support the need to respect the human rights of the patient, and we recognize the research limitations that may result from this need. As such, we may accept papers that present imperfect data if those data provide information that may serve the medical and educational needs of the disabled.
The journal's official languages are English, French, and German (English is desirable).

Le Journal of Disability and Medico-Pedagogy est consacré à l'étude scientifique et pédagogique du handicap et publié semestriellement. Ce journal en ligne publie des articles rendant compte d'observations originales, ainsi que des articles de synthèse dans le domaine. Le sujet inclut la recherche médicale — études cliniques, pathologiques et cytogénétiques, investigations biochimiques et études en génétique. La revue publie également des études psychologiques, éducatives et sociologiques susceptibles d'enrichir la connaissance des systèmes éducatifs, de protection sociale et de soins destinés aux personnes en situation de handicap.
Les articles de synthèse sont publiés lorsqu'ils rendent compte de recherches récentes ayant produit des avancées notables, ou lorsqu'ils présentent des considérations historiques ou sociologiques. Tous les articles sont évalués par nos rédacteurs, et les différences culturelles, sociales et politiques sont reconnues et prises en compte dans le processus éditorial.
En ce qui concerne la recherche médicale, nous soutenons la nécessité de respecter les droits humains du patient, et nous reconnaissons les limitations de recherche qui peuvent en résulter. Ainsi, nous pouvons accepter des articles présentant des données imparfaites si celles-ci fournissent des informations utiles aux besoins médicaux et éducatifs des personnes handicapées.
Les langues officielles du journal sont l'anglais, le français et l'allemand (l'anglais est préférable).

Das Journal of Disability and Medico-Pedagogy ist der wissenschaftlichen und pädagogischen Erforschung der Behinderung gewidmet und erscheint halbjährlich. Diese Online-Zeitschrift veröffentlicht Arbeiten mit originalen Beobachtungen sowie Übersichtsartikel auf diesem Gebiet. Gegenstand sind die medizinische Forschung — klinische, pathologische und zytogenetische Berichte, biochemische Untersuchungen und Studien zur Genetik. Die Zeitschrift veröffentlicht auch psychologische, pädagogische und soziologische Studien, die die Kenntnis der Bildungs-, Sozial- und Gesundheitssysteme für Menschen mit Behinderungen erweitern können.
Übersichtsartikel werden veröffentlicht, wenn sie neuere Forschung zu bemerkenswerten Fortschritten würdigen oder historische bzw. soziologische Überlegungen vorstellen. Alle Beiträge werden von unseren Herausgebern begutachtet, und kulturelle, soziale und politische Unterschiede werden im redaktionellen Prozess anerkannt und berücksichtigt.
Hinsichtlich der medizinischen Forschung unterstützen wir die Notwendigkeit, die Menschenrechte der Patienten zu wahren, und wir erkennen die daraus entstehenden Forschungsbeschränkungen an. Wir akzeptieren daher auch Arbeiten mit unvollständigen Daten, sofern diese Informationen den medizinischen und pädagogischen Bedürfnissen behinderter Menschen dienen können.
Die offiziellen Sprachen der Zeitschrift sind Englisch, Französisch und Deutsch (Englisch ist wünschenswert).
